Gui Boratto
Gui Boratto is a Brazilian electronic music producer, composer and architect from São Paulo, born in 1974. He works in house, tech house, techno and minimal, and is associated with the Kompakt label.
Career
Boratto begins his career in advertising in 1993. From 1994 to 2004, his work appears on a range of Brazilian and international labels, including EMI, Virgin, Irma, BMG, Edel, Vidisco and ZYX. In that period he also works with a wide list of artists, among them Pato Banton, Garth Brooks, Steel Pulse, Desiree, Manu Chao, Gal Costa, Chico Buarque, Fernanda Porto, Kaleidoscópio and Leila Pinheiro.
He handles A&R for the Brazilian independent label Megamusic, distributed by Trama, and owns the label with his brother Tchorta. From 2005, he focuses more fully on his own productions and compositions.
Releases
His releases appear on several European labels, including Plastic City, Circle, Kompakt and Audiomatique. These recordings bring him onto the playlists and charts of DJs and selectors such as Michael Mayer, Tiefschwarz, Steve Bug, Phonique, Martin Landsky and Hernan Cattaneo.
His discography includes early work under Sect and Crossover, followed by solo releases such as Royal House, Sunrise, Twiggy, Arquipélago, It's Majik, Sozinho, Like You, Beluga, Chromophobia, Take My Breath Away and III.
