Grounds For Divorce
Grounds For Divorce is a rock trio from Kitchener, Ontario, formed in 2010. The group consists of brothers Nick Iden and Chris Iden, along with longtime friend Christian Reichard. Christian Reichard first works with Nick Iden in 2008 after Nick launches the Kitchener-based audio agency Brixton Music, where Christian is hired as a session player and teacher. During recording sessions at the studio, Nick and Christian begin writing songs together.
Chris Iden, a local bassist and vocalist, completes the line-up and the band’s final sound. The trio’s debut self-titled album is produced by Nick Iden at Brixton Music and mixed by Ian Smith at EMI/The Whitehouse. Grounds For Divorce also receives the 2011 Waterloo Arts Council Grant.
The band’s sound is described as direct rock, with guitars played through overdriven amplifiers and heavy drums without guide tracks. Their style is also associated with catchy riffs and a loud, driving approach to rock music.
