Graham Massey is a musician, DJ and composer/programmer from Manchester, United Kingdom. He is associated with electronica, techno and IDM, and is known for work that spans post-punk, acid house and electro.

Career

Massey begins as a founder member of the Manchester post-punk group Biting Tongues, which signs to Factory Records in the mid-1980s. After that, he forms 808 State, the post-acid house electro group with which he gains critical and commercial success. He is part of 808 State as well as Toolshed, Homelife and Beach Surgeons.

Work with 808 State

With 808 State, Massey is connected to some of the best-known acid house and techno tracks of the late 1980s and 1990s. He continues to record with the group after its formation.

Remixing and production

He remixes a number of other artists, including The Future Sound of London and New Order. He also co-produces Björk's debut solo album.

Solo work

Alongside his group work, Massey releases several solo instrumental tracks.
