Goodnight, Texas

Goodnight, Texas is a United States folk and americana group active since 2010. The act centres on San Francisco’s Avi Vinocur, formerly of The Stone Foxes, and North Carolina’s Patrick Dyer Wolf. The pair also performs under the earlier name P. Wolf and Avi. The project is described as a transcontinental garage appalachian collaboration, and its sound draws on 19th- and early 20th-century folk and blues as well as contemporary artists such as The Tallest Man on Earth, Ryan Adams and Fleet Foxes.

The group’s pre-debut LP Coattails appears in 2010 and is presented as a stripped-down, earthy recording with both rough and sparse qualities. After its release, the band tours both coasts of the United States and appears in Austin at South by Southwest in 2011.

Later line-up details include Avi Vinocur, Patrick Dyer Wolf, Adam Nash, Scott Griffin Padden and Chris Sugiura. The group is tagged across folk, americana, southern gothic, ghost town folk and country, and is also associated with alternative country and folk rock.
