Golden Silvers are a British group formed in 2007 by Gwilym Gold, Ben Moorhouse and Alexis Nunez. The trio are based in London and active until 2011. Their sound is described as rock, with references to indie pop and art rock in broader tagging, and they are associated with a mix of synth-led pop, art rock and English melodic styles.

Career

The band gains attention through a run of live shows and a series of singles that build interest around their debut album True Romance. Their recordings include the independent-label singles Arrows Of Eros / Fade To Black and Magic Touch / Another Universe, which help establish their profile and lead to a bidding war for the band. XL Recordings signs them after that interest.

Style and description

Their music is described as an energetic and futuristic blend drawing comparisons with Blockheads, of Montreal and doo wop. They are also noted for a synth-driven sound that invites comparison with MGMT while retaining a distinct English character.
