Godsized
Godsized are a four-piece heavy rock band with a sound built around groove-based hard rock, Southern metal and Southern rock influences. The group forms a live-focused part of the British metal scene and centres its material on heavy riffs and dynamic stage performances.
Formation and early activity
The band solidifies its line-up in 2008 and quickly builds a reputation on the live circuit. Its members share an aim of channelling their energy into powerful, groove-led hard rock.
Releases
In December 2008, Godsized self-release a five-track EP called Brothers in Arms, produced by former Kill 2 This guitarist Mark Mynett. The band then records a follow-up EP and plans a full-length album for the period after that.
Live appearances
Godsized play as many live shows as possible after forming, including appearances at Hellfire Festival at the Islington Academy in 2009, the Sophie Lancaster stage at Bloodstock in 2009, and Hammerfest in 2010. They also open the Pepsi Max stage at Download Festival in 2010.
Reception
The band receives support from Metal Hammer writer Malcolm Dome, who describes them as a band with substance and breadth and as a group with the potential to make an impact beyond Britain.
