Go Chic

Go Chic is an electropop group from Taipei, Taiwan, active since 2007. The group forms around Sonia Lai, Ariel Zheng and Sarah Wen, who all graduate from the same high school and come together in 2007. The act is identified with indie and electronic music as well as electropop.

Style and early presence

Go Chic first gains attention for a visual style built around brightly coloured tights and short shorts, alongside a performance approach that mixes humour and direct crowd interaction with raw, catchy electronic pop. Later, the group moves to silver tutus as part of its stage image.

Line-up

The current members are Sonia Lai (賴思勻), Ariel Zheng (鄭思齊) and Sarah Wen (溫一珊). The group later loses some earlier members and adds Winston Li (李昀璁) on drums.

Performances and associations

Go Chic plays with a number of other acts, including Peaches, Vicarious Bliss of Ed Banger FR, Dandi Wind of Canada, Shitdisco of Dim Mak UK, and Death Is Not My Aim of Japan. The group also earns a place among Nike’s top 10 Taiwanese bands for the company’s NIKE SPORTSWEAR NIGHT PARTY.

Activity

The group continues to perform in Taiwan at festivals and venues.
