Global Communication

Global Communication is an ambient techno and ambient house duo from Yeovil, United Kingdom, made up of Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard. The group forms in 1992 and remains active. Its work sits within ambient, ambient techno, electronic and IDM, with a strong association with 1990s UK electronic music.

Releases

The duo is best known for 76:14, an ambient album widely regarded as a key release in its field and often discussed alongside other major UK ambient records of the period. Their studio albums include Pentamerous Metamorphosis in 1993, a full-album remix of Chapterhouse’s Blood Music, and 76:14 in 1994. Their EPs include Keongaku EP in 1992, Maiden Voyage in 1994, The Way / The Deep in 1996 and The Groove in 1997.

Their compilation and mix releases include Remotion in 1996, Fabric 26 in 2006 and Back In the Box in 2011. Fabric 26 is split between the two members, with one half mixed by Mark Pritchard and one half by Tom Middleton. In 2020, remastered editions of 76:14 and Pentamerous Metamorphosis appear alongside a compilation of singles and remixes in the box set Transmissions.
