Girl Sweat

Girl Sweat is a Leeds-based lo-fi garage-punk group active since 2011. The band forms part of the city’s independent punk scene and works under the name Girl Sweat Pleasure Temple Ritual Band.

Releases

Girl Sweat appears on two tapes issued by Middlesbrough label Ack! Ack! Ack! Records. The group also releases Return to Purge as its side of a split 12-inch with Yugoslavian Boys on Plymouth’s OneC Records. The band also makes official releases and demos available through its Bandcamp pages.

Style

The group’s sound combines fast garage-punk with a low-fi, swampy, reverb-heavy approach. It is described as drawing on the energy of Coachwhips and Ty Segall, alongside the darker atmosphere associated with K-Holes and Crystal Stilts.
