Gina Dootson

Gina Dootson is a singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom. She starts writing songs at a young age, beginning with “The Hedgehog Song” when she is six, and she also learns piano around the same time. Piano remains her main instrument until her teens, when she teaches herself guitar, which becomes her preferred writing instrument. She continues to play piano and also writes piano-based songs.

She begins performing in folk clubs before moving into the wider music scene. Her songs usually begin on acoustic guitar, although she does not describe herself as only an acoustic singer-songwriter. She writes material for herself and for other performers, and she appears both as a solo artist and with a band, as well as in formats between the two.

Alongside her own work, Dootson collaborates with dance producers. She records with The Thrillseekers on the single “By Your Side”, and also works with Riley & Durrant, who give several of her existing songs a dance arrangement. She performs those versions live in Ibiza.
