Georgia Ruth Williams is a folk harpist and singer from Aberystwyth, with origins also given as Llantwit Major. She is born in 1988.

Overview

Georgia Ruth Williams records and performs a hybrid of folk and blues. She sings in both Welsh and English, and her early solo work begins with a first demo recorded in her Aberystwyth living room.

Early recognition and performances

Her music gains support from Adam Walton at BBC Radio Wales, Huw Stephens at Radio 1 and C2, and Lisa Gwilym at Radio Cymru. It reaches a wider audience through an appearance on Glastonbury’s BBC Introducing Stage.

She is later invited to record a live session at London’s Maida Vale studios for Radio 1’s In New Music We Trust.

Collaborations and touring

Williams accompanies the Welsh dub-folk group 9Bach and Cardiff artist The Gentle Good on tour.
