Generation Kill
Generation Kill is a New York, United States-based thrash metal and crossover metal group active from 2008. It is formed by former Exodus frontman Rob Dukes and Rob Moschetti, who also has a background in Pro-Pain and M.O.D. The band is built around a crossover approach that draws on the members’ earlier metal and hardcore roots rather than following a single fixed formula.
Line-up and writing
The group’s line-up includes Rob Dukes on vocals, Rob Moschetti on bass and backing vocals, Jason Trenczer on lead guitar, Jason Velez on lead guitar and Rob Youells. The band’s writing is shared among its members, and the project is presented as a full band rather than a side project. The original concept emphasises individual song identity and different moods within the same overall style.
Sound and influences
Generation Kill is described as a true crossover band, combining its influences without losing its own character. Jason Trenczer contributes technical guitar work, while the second lead guitar role adds riffs and solos. The group’s drummer is described in the bio as having a death metal background, which adds speed and power to the music. The band is associated with thrash metal, crossover, groove metal, metal and hardcore.
