Gemma Fox

Gemma Fox is a London-based UK urban artist working in hip hop, R&B and dancehall. She is best known for her album Messy, which appears in 2004. Her lead single from the album is Girlfriends Story, which features MC Lyte and deals with a girl who cannot leave an abusive boyfriend. The follow-up single, Gone, features Juelz Santana. Neither guest artist appears in the videos for their respective tracks.

After a lack of promotion for her release, she leaves Polydor Records in August 2004. In the same year, she wins a UMA and is nominated for a MOBO award. The album is noted for its lyrics and for addressing issues that listeners can relate to.
