Gaudi is the Anglo-Italian musician and producer Daniele Gaudi, born in 1963 and based between Bologna and London. He works in dub, ambient, downtempo, chillout, psychill and novo dub, and is known for combining dub, electronic music and sounds drawn from different musical traditions.

Background

Gaudi becomes part of London’s underground music scene in the early 1990s after moving from Italy to the UK. His work is shaped by a studio-led approach that emphasises deep bass, layered textures, electronic beats, live instruments and classic dub effects. His music is identified with a spacious, immersive sound built around rhythm, atmosphere and low-end weight.

Work as a producer and performer

He is best known for his long-running association with The Orb, contributing to their sound in both studio work and live performance. He is also respected as a producer and remixer, with a hands-on style that values experimentation, analogue sound and a strong human feel in the recording process.
