Gamma

Gamma is a United States hard rock band active from 1978 to 1983, led by guitarist Ronnie Montrose. The group follows Montrose’s earlier band Montrose, after which he forms Gamma in the 1970s.

Line-up

The band includes Ronnie Montrose alongside Jim Alcivar, Denny Carmassi, Alan Fitzgerald, Mitchell Froom, Skip Gillette, Glenn Letsch and Davey Pattison.

Style and reception

Gamma works in hard rock and related classic rock and progressive rock territory. It is associated with strong musicianship and songwriting, although it receives relatively little airplay. The band comes from Northern California.
