Gadje Scum

Gadje Scum is a Belgian Balkan/beats crossover group from Ghent, active since 2011. The band combines live instrumentation with electronic elements and builds its music from dub, drum and bass, Balkan sounds, gypsy influences, reggae, circus music and 8-bit textures.

The group’s sound centres on soaring guitar lines, heavy bass-driven rhythms, dub sirens and horn arrangements. Its live setup includes a three-piece horn section, guitar and electronics, and a vocal role described as an MC-led performance.

Line-up

Will Harwood handles vocals and slide didgeridoo. Sanne Werkers plays guitar, electronics and backing vocals. The horn section consists of Bauke Meersman on alto saxophone, Dylan Meersman on trumpet, and Joris Meys on tenor and baritone saxophone.
