Future is the stage name of Nayvadius DeMun Cash, also known as Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, a rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer from Atlanta, United States. He works in hip hop, southern hip hop and trap, and is associated with A1 Recordings, as well as the groups FreeBand Gang, Black Migo Gang and Da Connect.

Career

Future begins releasing a series of moderately successful mixtapes in 2010 and 2011, then signs a major-label deal with Epic Records and Rocko’s A1 Recordings. This deal helps establish his label imprint Freebandz.

He follows with his debut studio album, Pluto, which appears in 2012 and receives positive reviews. The album produces five singles, all of which chart on the Billboard Hot 100, and is later reissued as Pluto 3D.

Further albums and mixtapes

His second studio album, Honest, is released in 2014, while he also performs with FreeBand Gang. He then releases a run of mixtapes and albums including Monster, Beast Mode and 56 Nights between 2014 and 2015, followed by DS2 in 2015.

He later releases What a Time to Be Alive with Drake, and the mixtape Purple Reign, which is executive produced by Metro Boomin and DJ Esco, with additional production from Southside, Zaytoven and others.

Future also releases We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You with Metro Boomin, and Mixtape Pluto.
