Funky Voices

Funky Voices is a community choir group founded and launched in 2007 by Sandra Colston, who serves as musical director. The choir is presented as an open-access project with no audition and no previous experience required, created to offer something contemporary and different within the local community.

Activities and work

The group focuses on modern music and gives singers a wide range of experiences. These include performance opportunities, travel, recording sessions, festival appearances, and work alongside established artists. The choir also appears on TV and radio.

Members learn up to 50 songs each year and perform at more than 100 events. The group also tours, competes in music festivals in the UK and internationally, and records multiple albums for iTunes. It is described as award winning and active from 2007 to the present.
