From Sorrow To Serenity

From Sorrow To Serenity are a progressive metalcore band from Glasgow, UK. The line-up is Gaz King on vocals, Steven Jones on guitars, Andrew Simpson on bass and Ian Baird on drums. The band forms in 2013.

Early releases and live activity

In their first year, they release the EP Antithesis, which earns attention in the UK metal scene and leads to support slots with Chelsea Grin, Veil of Maya and Monuments, as well as a performance at UK Tech-Fest. In 2016, they self-release their debut full-length album, Remnant of Humanity. They tour with Fit For An Autopsy and play the main stage at UK Tech-Fest, while the album draws praise from publications including Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and Metal Injection.

Line-up change and later singles

Gaz King, formerly of Nexilva, joins as the new vocalist before the release of the standalone single Golden Age in 2017. That track marks a move away from the band’s earlier deathcore sound towards a more modern technical metalcore style. After its release, the band tours the UK with Jinjer.

Label and later touring

From Sorrow To Serenity sign to Long Branch Records and release the single Supremacy in 2018. They then tour Europe with Betraying the Martyrs and Modern Day Babylon.
