From Afar

From Afar is a metal band from Rzeszów, Poland. The line-up listed for the band is Wojtek Pyć on vocals, Marcin Chuchla and Tomek Przywara on guitars, Piotrek Jaskółka on bass and Michał Chruściel on drums. The band begins in 2005, when Marcin Chuchla and Sebastian Szpakowski found it.

Early releases and development

The band’s first demo appears in 2009 and is treated as its debut. It is promoted through live shows with Frontside, Absynth and other local bands. In 2010 Wojtek Pyć joins and brings more melodic vocal lines to the group’s rhythm-driven sound, alongside electronic elements and progressive patterns. From that point, the music moves towards a darker and heavier mixture of alternative rock and metal.

Scene position

During 2010 and 2011, the band strengthens its place on the local scene and beyond it, and records new material. In January 2012, it begins promoting a second demo, with Piotrek Jaskółka returning to the bass position.
