Frigg

Frigg is a Finnish-Norwegian folk group formed in 2000. It plays a style centred on Scandinavian folk fiddling, with fretted instruments and upright bass, and draws on traditions from Kaustinen in Finland and Nord-Trøndelag in Norway. Its sound also includes elements of bluegrass, Celtic music, americana and Irish folk.

Line-up

The group’s members are Einar Olav Larsen, Juho Kivivuori, Anssi Salminen, Gjermund Larsen, Antti Järvelä, Tuomas Logrén, Tommi Asplund, Tero Hyväluoma, Alina Järvelä, Esko Järvelä and Petri Prauda.

Recognition

Frigg is chosen as Band of the Year at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival in 2003.
