French Horn Rebellion
French Horn Rebellion is a Brooklyn-based electronic music group led by Robert PM and active since 2007. The project begins when Robert Perlick-Molinari, then a classical horn player in the Chicago area, starts making beats on his laptop and hosting house parties. He works with his brother David Perlick-Molinari to form the act, and their first single together is “Up All Night.”
Style and work
The group combines dance-punk, French touch and electro with conventional songwriting. Its sound is also described as a form of indie-dance, with synthpop, electronic, electropop, dance and alternative elements associated with it.
Other activity
French Horn Rebellion’s members work at David’s production studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, called YouTooCanWoo, and they also help run the indie disco and house label toucan sounds.
Performances and reception
The act performs both as a DJ outfit and as a live band, and it has played across five continents. It also collaborates on stage and in the studio with other music artists. The project receives coverage and praise from outlets including The New York Times, Billboard, The Huffington Post, The Guardian and LA Weekly.
