Frances Black is an Irish singer and politician from Dublin, Ireland. Born in 1960, she comes to prominence in the late 1980s as a member of her family’s band, The Black Family, which performs a mix of traditional and contemporary Irish music. She is also associated with the folk genre and with the group Arcady.

In 1994, she records an album with Irish singer Kieran Goss under the name Frances Black & Kieran Goss. Her brothers Shay and Michael perform as The Black Brothers, and her older sister Mary Black has her own musical career.
