Framework
Framework is a darkwave and industrial group from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, founded in 1996 by Andreas Lehmann and Sigmund Droese. The two founders are influenced by the dark electro scene of the 1990s. The band first issues the demo tape Hand on the trigger in 1997.
History
In 2000, Daniel Konrad joins the group, and Framework signs its first record deal with Scanner/Dark Dimensions. Its debut album, Refectons, appears in 2002 and receives positive reviews, helping the band to gain wider attention through extensive live activity. After that period, the group pauses for various reasons and turns its focus to private life. Sigmund Droese leaves the band.
In late 2010, Daniel Konrad and Andreas Lehmann decide to revive Framework. After two years of work, the follow-up album Untold Stories is completed. The record uses varied vocals and draws on EBM, electro and glitch beats, while keeping clear links to the act’s dark electro roots.
Style
Framework’s music is rooted in electro-industrial, darkwave and industrial sounds, with the later material also described through EBM, electro and glitch elements. The project starts from the 1990s dark electro scene and develops a darker electronic style over time.
