Foundations

Foundations are a British metalcore band from Middlesbrough, active from 2010 to 2014. The group combines melodic hardcore influences with the heaviness associated with metalcore, and their sound is shaped by breakdown-driven riffs and punishing vocals.

Releases and style

The band’s work includes the release Deceived, which features tracks such as “Traitor” and the title track “Deceived”, issued through BlankTV. A later release, Honour, presents a harder and angrier approach, with the band emphasising raw intensity, crushing guitar work and forceful vocals.

Live activity and performances

Foundations build their reputation through live shows with strong stage presence and crowd participation. They share stages with bands including Break Even, Miles Away, In Trenches, The Amity Affliction, Deez Nuts, Confession and Parkway Drive, alongside local acts and friends.

Earlier material

Before those releases, the band is also linked with an earlier EP stage, when they are writing material and preparing a recording. Their catalogue is presented as a progression from melodic hardcore-tinged heaviness towards a more confrontational metalcore sound.
