Fort are an Australian stoner rock band from Byron Bay, originally known as Forte. The group forms in 2000 and is active from then to the present. It is identified as a group rather than a solo project.

Fort are associated with stoner rock, hard rock and instrumental music, and the name also appears in connection with post-rock. The band’s Australian lineup is distinct from another act of the same name from Cardiff, which is described as a cinematic instrumental post-rock quartet.

The Byron Bay band has five releases. Some of its members later start a new band called OX.
