Forcenra

Forcenra is a three- to four-piece band working in the folk tradition. The group combines Irish tunes and songs with self-written material that is shaped by traditional forms and themes. Its songs draw on subjects including love, betrayal, courage, fantasy and honour.

Members and instruments

Dora McKinley sings, plays guitar, fiddle and low whistle, and writes the songs and some of the tunes. Gem Quinn plays 12-string and 6-string guitar, kick drum and backing vocals. Dan Chalmers plays bodhrán. Sophie Harrison plays fiddle.
