Foe

Foe is the name used by more than one artist, including an American rapper from the Bronx, New York, a British project led by Hannah Lou Clark, and several bands from different locations. The name also appears on releases by an instrumental doom/sludge group from New Brunswick and a Romanian trap artist.

American rapper

One Foe is an American rapper from the Bronx, New York. He is associated with gangsta and hardcore rap, with some conscious rap in his style. He releases a debut and only album, Scissorhands, in 1996 on Black Market Records and Priority Records.

British project by Hannah Lou Clark

Another Foe is a musical project active from 2009 to 2013, led by British indie artist Hannah Lou Clark, also known as Hannah Shark. Before this project, Clark performs vocals in the alternative pop band Arthur from 2005 to 2009 and works closely with producer and singer Entrepreneurs.

As Foe, Clark releases the debut EP Hot New Trash and later the album Bad Dream Hotline in 2012.

Japanese band

Foe is also a band started in 1999 by guitarist and producer Aida Shigekazu, who uses the name 會田茂一. He recruits Sato Kenji on bass and Komatsu Masahiro of bloodthirsty butchers on drums, while also handling vocals and guitar.

The group releases four albums and a DVD, and holds its own concert series called Flowers of Error. It is invited to perform Japan Nite at SXSW in 2003 and also appears at Rising Sun Rock Festival.

London band

Another Foe is a band from London, England. It releases its debut album Arm Yourself with Clairvoyance in 2003, followed in November 2003 by The Combined Stupidity of Spiteful Men, a split album with American Heritage and Art of Burning Water. The group tours the UK with those bands in support of the release and plays shows with The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong and Mastodon. Its debut album attracts positive reviews in publications such as Rock Sound and Metal Hammer, as well as from more than 50 online zines. In October 2003, bassist Crawford Blair leaves and Steve Woodcock joins on 10-string Chapman Stick. A later album, Siafu, is planned for 2008.

Sheffield band

Foe is also listed as a band from Sheffield, England, formed in 1997. Its members are Joe on guitar and vocals, James on bass and Martin on drums.

There is also a Foe from Milford, Connecticut, an instrumental doom/sludge band from New Brunswick, and a Romanian trap artist also known as Yung Foe or The Goat, who releases singles and EPs from 2020 and an album titled In viata fara sa traiesc in 2023.
