Flyying Colours
Flyying Colours are a Melbourne shoegaze and dream pop group from Brunswick, Melbourne, active since 2011. Their sound draws on the loud, fuzzy guitars associated with shoegaze and the melodic side of dream pop, and they are also associated with neo-psychedelia and noise pop.
Formation and line-up
The band centres on the guitars and vocals of Brodie J Brümmer and Gemma O'Connor, with Melanie Barbaro on bass and Andy Lloyd Russell on drums.
Releases
Their first single, Wavygravy, and a self-titled EP appear in 2013. The EP is later distributed worldwide by Shelflife in the United States and Club AC30 in the United Kingdom. Another similar EP follows in 2015, and the ROYGBIV EP is also issued through Shelflife and Club AC30. Their debut full-length album, Mindfullness, is released in 2016 through Island and Club AC30.
Touring and later activity
After those releases, the group tours internationally, including headline dates in the UK and Europe, a first visit to China, and support tours with Johnny Marr, The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Black Angels and A Place To Bury Strangers. They later sign to Poison City Records in Australia and the US, which works with Club AC30 on the singles Goodtimes and Big Mess from their second album Fantasy Country.
