Flying Ibex

Flying Ibex is a UK indie group active since 2011. It is centred on songwriter Barnaby Keen, with drummer Dave De Rose and bassist Nathaniel Keen also part of the line-up.

The group begins as the house band at an artists’ commune in south London, where it improvises for silent films and theatre pieces. Its music develops from a mixture of influences that includes African tape recordings, Brazilian maracatu and analogue equipment.

The members bring varied musical backgrounds to the project, including work with Mark Ronson and Moloko, and touring with Andreya Triana. The band also draws on musical experience gained through time spent in Brazil.
