Flute of Shame
Flute of Shame is an acoustic trio from Finland. It forms in 2010 and continues as a group made up of Koop Arponen, James Lascelles and Dane Stefaniuk.
Background
The group centres on acoustic performance and plays mainly in Finland, although it also tours in Spain and the United Kingdom. Before Flute of Shame, Koop Arponen wins Finnish Idols in 2008 and then releases two albums as a solo artist: New Town in 2009 and Bright Lights in 2010. James Lascelles has previously been involved with Cassini.
Releases and recognition
Flute of Shame's debut single, Pictures on my Wall, wins the Alla Pugachova prize in the international New Wave song contest in Latvia in 2011. The trio then releases the four-track EP Coming Home, which includes the title track, The Landlord, Waiting and Wake Up. A second EP, These Hands, follows and includes These Hands, Peace of Mind and Poet and the Siren.
