Flayed Disciple are a UK death metal band from Taunton, Somerset in England, active from 2008. Their sound combines thrash, death metal and old school metal, placing them within death-thrash territory.

Formation and line-up

Guitarists Thurston Howe and Jon Whitfield meet in 2007 after Howe returns from two years at the Guitar Institute in Los Angeles. Looking for a committed drummer, they recruit Phil Tolfree, formerly of Burning Skies. Tolfree also contributes to the band’s visual presentation through his artwork.

The band later hears Tim Whyte rehearsing with his group Mutilated Carcass and offers him the vocalist role.

Early activity

After forming, Flayed Disciple tour the UK with Seregon in 2009 and play shows with a number of British and American metal bands, including Brutal Truth, Desecration, Trigger the Bloodshed, The Rotted, Dead Beyond Buried, Infestation and Fleshrot.

Releases

Their first EP, Drawn Viscera, contains four songs. A later re-release includes a new recording of “Ejaculate While Killing”, a new track called “Exodus”, and a video for “E.W.K.” The band also plans a full-length album and seeks record label interest.
