Flash and the Pan are an Australian group active since 1976, working across new wave, pop, pop rock and synth-pop, with rock roots. The act is also credited as Flash & The Pan.

Formation and line-up

The group is formed by Harry Vanda and George Young, with Warren Morgan also listed as a member. Vanda and Young are both former members of The Easybeats. George Young is the older brother of AC/DC members Angus Young and Malcolm Young.

Career overview

In the UK, the group is known as a one-hit wonder until the release of “Waiting for a Train” in 1983. The name plays on the phrase “flash in the pan”, which refers to something that is only briefly popular.
