Femme

Femme is a French synth and electronic duo associated with pop, electropop and electro-booty. The project is led by Laura Bettinson, a vocalist and producer who is based in South London and has worked across art, music, film and fashion.

Bettinson graduates from Goldsmiths, an institution known for producing artists including Blur, Katy B and James Blake. Before and alongside Femme, she develops a wide range of creative projects, bringing together different visual and musical interests.

Femme’s sound draws on sixties girl groups and the attitude of artists such as MIA, Debbie Harry and Cindy Sherman. The project combines an avant-pop style with dance-oriented, physical beats.
