Fehdah

Fehdah is the Afrofuturist musical project of Emma Garnett, an Irish vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Her music draws on the Wassoulou traditions of West Africa and the neo-soul of North America, combining polyphonic vocal writing with layered rhythm and harmony. The project brings together influences from across these traditions into a single experimental sound.

Before working under the Fehdah name, Emma Garnett is known for providing vocals for Manden Express, RiZA and Loah, and for collaborations with Ben Bix. The live and recording setup for Fehdah includes a wider group of players drawn from acts including Meltybrains?, Danny G & the Major 7ths and Tig Linn, alongside other musicians.
