Fancy Hagood

Fancy Hagood is an American singer-songwriter from Bentonville, Arkansas. Born in 1991, he first records and releases music under the name Who Is Fancy before later using his own name. He works in pop, pop rock and queer country, and is also associated with queer and LGBTQI music.

He signs with Big Machine Label Group and Scooter Braun, and releases his debut single, “Goodbye,” in 2015. At first, his identity is kept secret, and his early releases appear under the Who Is Fancy moniker. Hagood later speaks about the pressure he feels from his label around his identity as a gay artist.

In 2020, he returns to wider attention as Fancy Hagood with singles including “Don’t Blink” and “Forest”. His debut full-length album, Souther Curiosity, is released in 2021, along with a documentary short about him produced by Apple Music.
