Family Band

Family Band

Family Band is a Brooklyn-based indie group from the United States. The group centres on Kim Krans and Jonny Ollsin, with Scott Hirsch on bass and lap steel, and Luke Fasano on drums.

The band writes and records most of its songs at a cabin in the Catskills. Its music is presented as part of a folk-leaning, indie and post-rock context, and the group describes itself as playing in informal settings such as porches, barns and around bonfires as well as in the city.

After recording an EP in the autumn of 2008, the band works on its first full-length release. It is based in New York City, though its songs are described as coming from elsewhere.
