Familieforetaket

Familieforetaket is a band from Stord in Hordaland, Norway, formed in 2012. The group releases a debut album titled Going North, and its music is associated with dream pop, blues rock and folk pop.

Line-up and approach

The band has three singers. Alongside her own voice, Cecilie Anna also writes for the voices of Vidar and Endre, giving the group a varied vocal and musical style.

Name and influences

The name Familieforetaket means “The Family Concern” and reflects the band’s idea that playing in a group is similar to being related: travelling together, staying with friends and family, occasionally getting on each other’s nerves, and spending most of the time enjoying the experience. The band’s references include Leonard Cohen, PJ Harvey and Fats Domino.
