Faith No Man

Faith No Man is a tribute group from England, United Kingdom, active from 2008 to the present. It performs as a Faith No More tribute act and is associated with post-punk, alternative rock and no wave, as well as the Bay Area rarity tag.

History

The act begins in 1979 under the name Sharp Young Men, before M Morris and Wade Worthington form Faith. No Man. Morris first proposes the name Faith In No Man, and after discussion Mike Bordin suggests Faith. No Man, which becomes the final name. Bordin joins as drummer, followed later by Bill Gould.

Worthington later leaves because of tension within the group and dissatisfaction with his own contributions. Morris also becomes hard on Gould, which creates a rift in the band. At one stage, options include adding a second guitarist, with Jake from Crucifix mentioned, but the group instead decides that Roddy Bottum, Gould’s childhood friend, joins as the new member. Bottum quickly fits in with the remaining three, and the band begins planning how to continue without Morris, who is the sole songwriter and singer.

After the final show, there is no communication between Morris and the other three for six months. Bordin then contacts Morris, and although they do not stay in regular touch, they remain friendly over the years. The group then breaks up.

Single

The group’s single is (It's Oh so) Quiet in Heaven / Song of Liberty, issued as a 7-inch single under the catalogue number FMN-1.
