Fagin's Reject is the London-based psychedelic trance project of Phil Getty. Getty comes from a psychedelic rock and metal background, and first encounters goatrance at London Goa parties in 1992. He begins collecting the limited vinyl releases in the style and later travels to Goa, where he attends parties and festivals internationally.

After returning from India in 1994, Getty joins Lost Sector, an early techno-acid group with Bill Robin of Warp Technique and Benny Ill of Horsepower Productions. The group releases material on Fishtank Records. Getty originally works as a bassist and funk DJ, then starts producing psytrance around 2003 as a way of expressing musical ideas. After completing a music technology diploma in 2008, he treats music-making more seriously and establishes Fagin's Reject.

As Fagin's Reject, Getty works within psychedelic trance and related electronic styles, with a sound that combines psychedelic boogie, hi-tech elements and a strong squelch-heavy character. His music also carries a clear old-school influence.
