Fabe

Fabe is a French MC from Paris, born in 1971. He is associated with conscious hip hop, hip hop, old school hip hop and political hip hop, and is a member of Le Complot des Bas Fonds and Scred Connexion.

Background

He grows up in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, in a working-class environment, before moving to Annecy at the age of 12 with his mother to receive treatment for chronic eczema. He returns to Paris in 1991 and settles in Barbès, where he lives for nine years. His stage name comes from the shortened form of his first name, Fabrice.

Early life and education

Fabe has a disrupted school path. He eventually obtains his baccalauréat, then enrols at the University of Nanterre to study philosophy, but stays only a few months. In the early 1990s he supports himself with small jobs and also practices skateboarding and graffiti.
