Ewert and the Two Dragons

Ewert and the Two Dragons are an Estonian indie rock and indie folk band from Tallinn. The group forms in 2009 and remains active through 2025. Its line-up consists of Ewert Sundja on vocals and keyboards, Erki Pärnoja on guitars and backing vocals, Kristjan Kallas on drums, and Ivo Etti on guitars, backing vocals and balalaika.

Career

The band’s debut album, The Hills Behind The Hills, appears in 2009. Their second album, Good Man Down, follows in 2011 and becomes both a critical and commercial success, reaching the position of best-selling album in Estonia that year. The third album, Circles, appears in 2015, followed by Hands Around the Moon in 2018.

Reception

Ewert and the Two Dragons receive strong attention in the Baltic region, including praise from critics who describe them as a leading name in Estonian music. Their performance at the Positivus festival in 2010 also draws positive notice from Finnish music magazine Rumba, which calls them the best band at the festival.
