Etno

Etno is an Italian italo-disco project. The group is listed as Gianluca Brachini, Alessandro Gallina, Gianluigi Gallina, Giuseppe Lo Buono, Sergio Olivieri and Giorgio Signorini.

The name Etno is explained by the Greek root ethos, which refers to people, race or nation. The project presents itself as built around cultural difference, dialogue and respect for diversity. Its music is described as combining rock with different rhythms and languages, using a wide mix of melodies, timbres and arrangements while keeping a clear identity.

The name is also associated in the biography with a different lineup: Tiago Freitas on vocals, Iano Fazio on bass, Vitor Fonseca on guitar and Tiago Palma on drums. That lineup is tied to the band's first album, Revolução Silenciosa, which is issued in 2008 and presented with the band Nação Zumbi in Brasília.

Etno's sound is framed around rock at its core, with additional influences drawn from other styles and languages to create a plural musical character.
