Ethan Johns

Ethan Johns is an English record producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Merton, Surrey. He is also active as a singer-songwriter and works across folk and rock.

Career

Johns works with a wide range of artists, including Ryan Adams, Kings of Leon, Ray LaMontagne, Tom Jones, Kaiser Chiefs, Rufus Wainwright, The Boxer Rebellion, Crowded House, The Vaccines, Laura Marling, The Staves and Crosby, Stills and Nash. As a multi-instrumentalist, he also tours with artists such as Emmylou Harris, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne and Tom Jones.

Labels and projects

He owns the independent label Three Crows Music, which includes Julianna Raye, Sarabeth and pianist and composer Dave Palmer. He also runs Three Crows Records within Warner/Atlantic.

Family and recognition

Johns is the son of record producer and engineer Glyn Johns, who works with acts including The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin and The Who. He wins the Brit Award for Best British Producer in 2012.

Solo work

Johns releases the solo album If Not Now Then When on vinyl in 2012.
