Esprit D'Air

Esprit D'Air is a Japanese alternative metal band based in London, with origins in both London and Japan. The group forms in 2010 and continues from a 2016 reformation, with Kai as the only named member. Kai is also the guitarist of The Sisters of Mercy and handles vocals, guitar and other instrumentation in the band.

The band works independently and follows a DIY approach, recording, mixing and mastering its releases in its own home studio. Kai also oversees production and promotion without a record label or management. Esprit D'Air uses a line-up of regular session and touring players, including Jan-Vincent Velazco on drums, Takeshi on bass and Yusuke on guitar. Jan-Vincent Velazco is also known for Pendragon, while Takeshi is a former member of Mergingmoon.

Esprit D'Air releases three studio albums: Constellations, Oceans and Seasons. The band also has a fourth album, Aeons, listed for later release. It is identified as a Japanese alternative metal act and is also associated with j-rock, rock, visual kei and Japanese music scenes.
