Eskorzo

Eskorzo are a Spanish eight-piece Latin ska group from Spain, formed in 1996. The band includes Tony. Their music combines reggae, ska, Latin rock and punk, and their lyrics often deal with social issues such as racism and war.

Early releases

Their first recording is the demo Rock de Libertad. This is followed by Si Las Cabras Pueden, Nosotros Tambien. The debut album, Bullanga, is released in 1999 on Crysalis EMI.

Further work and releases

In May 2001, Barcelona label Tralla Records releases La Sopa Boba, which includes a reggae version of Triana’s Hijos del Agobio. Eskorzo also contribute El Roto to a compilation connected with the Esparrago Rock festival. Later releases come out on Acostao Records: Al Compas de los Vinagres in 2003, El Arbol de La Duda in 2004, and Paraisos Artificiales in 2009.

Performances and associations

The band performs with King Changó and opens for Mexican group Molotov at shows around Spain.
