Erotic Market

Erotic Market is a French group centred on singer-songwriter Rosemary Martins. The project begins as a duo and then changes shape into a solo act supported by a small band built around Martins, with DJ Flore on bass, Bonetrips on beats and Nicolas Taite on drums.

Style and development

The group keeps a pop foundation, but its later sound moves towards a more soulful, futuristic R&B direction. Earlier indie rock elements give way to a style that also draws on electronic and indie pop influences. Martins’ performance style is described through a range of vocal and lyrical personae, shifting between crooner, rapper, poet and blues-influenced singer.

Releases

Erotic Market releases Queendoms, a 13-track set, through Mutant Ninja. The record marks the group’s return after a period of silence and reflects the project’s changed line-up and musical direction.
