Erg

Erg is a United States-based punk rock and singer-songwriter project, also associated with drone ambient, dark ambient, ambient, noise and neoclassical styles. The project starts in 2003 in Madrid, Spain, and works under the name Erg as an individual act.

Early releases and style

The first release mentioned is La tierra vacía, a tape with a minimalist approach and world music influences. It wins a second prize for music at the University of Vigo in solo mode. After Sahel, the project moves towards classical music and soundtrack-like textures on the 2006 demo Nihil.

Later work

In 2008, Aegyptiaca appears as the most ambitious demo to that point. In the same year, Erg launches online and releases the Sigui EP. In 2009, Erg collaborates with Eldar on the album Sapere Aude, contributing the track Horus.

Other activity

Erg also completes soundtracks for short films and signs to Protea Records. In 2007, Erg creates another project, N-URSS, focused on noise and industrial music. In 2011, Erg releases the long-form album Qart Hadast, which runs for around 70 minutes.
