Equilibrium
Equilibrium is a German metal group from München, active since 2001. The band works in a blend of folk metal, viking metal, pagan metal and related metal styles, and is identified as a German viking metal band.
Formation and early releases
The group forms in 2001 and releases a demo at the beginning of 2003. That recording receives a strong response and leads to a recording deal with Black Attakk. The band’s debut album, Turis Fratyr, follows in 2005.
Label changes and albums
In 2006, Equilibrium signs with Nuclear Blast. The band records Sagas in January 2007 and later makes the album available worldwide in 2008. In 2010, it releases Rekreatur on Nuclear Blast Records.
Line-up changes
In February 2010, vocalist Helge Stang and drummer Manuel Di Camillo leave the band. Equilibrium then announces Robse as the new vocalist and Hati as the new drummer. The wider line-up associated with the group includes Michael Heidenreich, Henning Stein, Helge Stang, Sandra van Eldik, Andreas Völkl, René Berthiaume, Conny Kaiser, Julius Koblitzek, Sebastian Kriegl, Armin Dörfler, Markus Perschke, Manuel DiCamillo, Robert Dahn, Tuval Refaeli, Martin Berger and Dom R. Crey.
Genres and activity
The band is associated with death metal, folk metal, melodic death metal, metal, metalcore and symphonic metal, and remains active from 2001 to the present.
