Engraved in Blood

Engraved in Blood is a melodic death metal and metalcore group from Stavanger, Norway, formed in 2003 and active since then. The band is also described as drawing on black metal elements in its sound.

Line-up

The group’s line-up includes James Quartermaine on vocals and rhythm guitar, Ralph Ainsworth on lead guitar, and Danny Phillips on drums. Quartermaine previously plays in Aonia and From The Depths, while Phillips previously plays in The Modcons. The bass role is filled by session musicians while the band looks for a permanent bassist. This line-up has been together since March 2012.

Activity and releases

Engraved in Blood spends its early years playing live extensively across the UK, with shows in places including Sheffield, Nottingham, Ipswich, Hull and Leicester. It also appears at BOMfest 2012 and Blast Festival, and later on Coalfields 2013 and Khaos Festival 2013. The band’s full-length debut album is Buried In A Forest Of Bodies, which it plans to release through Abacus Recordings. The group also plans to make a music video to support the album and to reach wider audiences.

Former members

Past members include Jakk Perkins, who plays drums with Evil Scarecrow; Lee Dunger, who has vocals credits with Soulchart and Ohmnicide; and Ryan Kennedy, who also performs vocals.
